Can I track sheep with no mobile signal?
Yes. Flockarewe's LoRa ear tags and collars report to your own gateways, which cover fells, moorland and valleys where there's no mobile signal — and without a SIM for every animal. Only 4G collars use the mobile network.
How do you track a whole flock affordably?
LoRa ear tags are low-cost and battery-light, so tagging a whole flock is far cheaper than a cellular collar per ewe. One gateway covers many animals across a wide area.
How accurate is sheep tracking?
GPS collars give a precise fix. LoRa ear tags are located by which gateways hear them — a paddock-level position, which is exactly what you need to answer 'is this ewe where she should be?'.
Will it tell me when a ewe is lambing or cast?
Movement patterns change around lambing, and a tag that goes still while the flock moves on is flagged as gone-quiet — both surface as alerts so you can check the animal.
How long do the ear tags last?
Ear tags run for months to years on a coin cell, depending on how often they report. Collars report more frequently and are recharged or swapped periodically.
