When a lot of animals suddenly run, bunch up, or bolt in the same moment, Shep reads it as trouble and raises an urgent alert straight away, not at the next gather.

How Shep spots trouble
Grazing sheep move slowly and independently. A dog worrying the flock, or someone driving it into a corner or a trailer, does the opposite: it throws a lot of animals about at once and sends the group moving together, fast. That is a pattern, and it is one a computer can catch quickly.
The tags' own motion sensors fire the instant an animal is thrown about, without waiting for the next position. Flock Watch looks for a cluster of those across the mob, works out whether the flock is running, bunching, or drifting off its usual ground, and hands the picture to Shep, the AI agent, to judge whether it is real trouble or just routine. If it is real, you get a critical alert with the location, even in the middle of the night.
It runs on the same platform as your geofencing and theft detection, across both sheep and cattle, so it is one system watching the whole flock.

What is Flock Watch?
It is Flockarewe's disturbance detector. Instead of only tracking where animals are, it watches how the flock is behaving, and raises an urgent alert the moment the pattern of a dog attack, a round-up or a sudden bolt appears, with the animals' location.
Can it detect a dog attack or sheep worrying?
That is its main job. When worried sheep bunch and run together, the tags' motion sensors fire at once and Shep sees a cluster of them across the flock, checks the animals are running rather than grazing, and alerts you immediately.
Does it help against rustling?
Yes. Someone gathering your sheep produces the same signature as a panic: the group moving together, fast, often at night. Shep flags that as urgent and gives you a live location to hand to the Gardaí or police.
Will it cry wolf every time sheep run?
No. Shep compares against the flock's normal behaviour and the time of day, and you can mute it during a known handling or gather. The aim is a small number of alerts that genuinely matter.
What does it need to work?
Motion-capable tags or collars (ones with a movement sensor), so the flock's behaviour can be read. The more animals carrying a motion tag, the more of the flock Flock Watch covers. It runs alongside geofencing and theft detection on the same platform.
